Whopper Waterfowl
Mitchells' is located in what some people refer to
as the front line. After leaving the pristine northern lakes of northern
Saskatchewan and the untouched tundra of the Northwest Territories, a
favorite resting place for migrating Waterfowl is the North Saskatchewan river.
The prime time to hunt Geese and Ducks is the middle of September to the
first week of October. You can expect Ross, Snow, Blue, Speckle belly and
Canada geese. Chances are you will see Mallard, Pintail, Spoon Bill, Gadwall
and Teal for ducks. That time of year there are normally many Sandhill
Cranes that pass through as well.
Magnificent Mulies
Mitchells' Mulies was established in 1997 with the
attitude that we would do everything within our power to increase the potential
odds of harvesting a serious Mulie Buck. September through December are
the set dates. The pre-rut is the end of October and the rut runs November into
December. This hunt is by waiting list only. A small deposit will hold you a
spot.
Often when a client is here he will decide he would like to
take more than one trophy home. We can combine your hunt with waterfowl,
upland bird, elk, bear, whitetail or mule deer. We can do exciting coyote hunt
calling and have done challenging shoots of our own mini prairie dog- the
gopher.
Enormous Elk
Giant Elk!!! There's only one place to look... that's
north to Canada and Mitchells' has them! The huge bulls you see in
taxidermist shops and in magazines are coming from Saskatchewan. Clients
describe these beasts as having dark and massive antlers. Enormous,
breathtaking and huge are other words used. The rut is in mid September and
runs into October. There's a good chance you will experience once of the
great thrills of the outdoors with the bugle of these magnificent, majestic bulls
that have come to symbolize the great Canadian hunt experience of a
lifetime.
Wily Whitetails
Saskatchewan is world renowned for its trophy
white tailed deer. Your hosts at Mitchells', Brent and Susan, have a reputation
that has been built since 1987 when this area first became the hotspot in
North America for this sought after trophy the whitetail.
September through December are when we get hot on the
trail of these bruin bodied northern bucks. Pre-rut is at the end of October and
the rut starts in November and runs into December. We have harvested some
tremendous giant bucks over the seasons.
